Drift

Painting Class Project | Feb 28,2024 | 24”L x 18”W

It begins with sketching the basic forms lightly, mapping out where the deepest reds will anchor the composition and where the lighter tints will create energy and movement. Layer by layer, I build up the reds, playing with saturation and pressure to create depth, texture, and drama. Shadows are deep, almost blackened reds, while highlights are soft, almost pinkish tones that catch the light and pull the eye. Every brushstroke focuses on capturing that frozen second of power and grace, using just one color to express the full force of the moment.
